Quick n' Dirty Boat Building Contest

The Quick'n Dirty Boat Building Contest is a two day fun filled festival in and of itself. The teams bring a Mardi Gras feel to the festival by picking themes, naming their boat and dressing up in costume. "Lord of the Tchefuncte", and "Reigning Clowns" are two examples of names past crews have used. Trophies are given for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and "Best of Show". Sign up forms are provided below.

  1. Each crew has 14 hours to build a boat out of the materials provided to them.
  2. The boats may have one or two crew members and have to complete the course of approximately 100 yards in length from the starting line to the buoy and back.
  3. One leg of the course is rowed and the other leg is a leeward sail. The wind direction on contest day will determine the sailing leg of the course.
  4. The winners get a cool trophy and of course, bragging rights for a whole year.
